Per il prossimo numero intendiamo richiamare l’attenzione sul tema di come lo sviluppo esponenziale della produzione e della circolazione delle immagini coinvolge direttamente le capacità neurologiche del cervello umano di percepire, comprendere, memorizzare. Cosa resta della “furia delle immagini”, per dirla come Joan Fontcuberta? Cosa oggi colpisce l’immaginario, nell’arte come nella pubblicità, tanto da “restare” nella memoria a lungo termine?

We inform you that the deadline for the Call For Papers for issue no. 5 of IO01 Umanesimo Tecnologico on the theme of ‘Memorizing the digital imaginary, between new emotions and the vertigo of oblivion’ has been extended to May 20, 2024.
For the next issue, we intend to draw attention to the theme of how the exponential development of the production and circulation of images directly involves the neurological capacities of the human brain to perceive, understand, and memorize. What remains of the ‘fury of images,’ to put it in the words of Joan Fontcuberta? What strikes the imagination today, in art as in advertising, so much so as to ‘remain’ in long-term memory?
